Cocktail Class at The Courtesy Bar
One of Orlando’s original craft cocktail bars, The Courtesy Bar offers a 90-minute, hands-on craft cocktail class every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month. Focused on the history and technique behind three classic cocktails, the laid-back but ultra informative tutorial takes participants step-by-step through each recipe. Everyone gets their own mixing station complete with all the pro tools and afterward students enjoy the fruits of their labor. Drink School at The Woods
Veteran bartender and managing partner Brian Minkel takes craft spirit enthusiasts through Drink School, a two-hour cocktail class that can be booked Saturdays by reservation only at The Woods. Designed for a minimum of four people and a maximum of 10, these two-hour, custom sessions are tailored for each group and can focus on a series of drinks or a specific type of sprit, such as whiskey. While participants pour, mix and shake, Minkel supplies a nonstop stream of cocktail knowhow related to everything from history to the distillation process. Classes for Beer Lovers, Too
World of Beers, now with four Orlando area locations, offers Beer School at various times throughout the year. Classes are free or a nominal fee and include samplings along with a sixty to ninety-minute class about varieties and brewing techniques for craft beers.
