April Wine Events In and Around Orlando

Glass half empty? A vine-inspired evening might be just the thing, and there are several Orlando-area wine events to chose from in April. Ready, set… pour!

April 5, 2017: Wine & Paint at Wekiva Island in Longwood. Enjoy wine while you flex your creativity muscles. Hosted by artist Elisabeth Ferber, Wine & Paint includes paint supplies, 2 glasses of wine and light bites.

April 5, 2017: Masi Agricola wines and The Palm Orlando partner for the “Taste of Time” Wine Dinner. One vintage included will be Masi Costasera Amarone della Valpolicella Classico, produced from the famed “drying of grapes” techniques dating back to the ancient Romans. This decadent five-course fête is $125 per person for 837 Club members and $150 for non-members.

April 6, 2017: Eyrie Vineyards Wine Dinner at 1921 by Norman Van Aken with Winemaker Jason Lett, a second generation winemaker who believes in exploration and innovation, hallmarks of the Eyrie adventure since his father planted the first vines in 1965. A Crispy Soft Shell Crab over Tomato Consume with Lemon Gel, Lemon Verbena Vinaigrette and Spring Herb Salad will be paired with The Eyrie Vineyards Pino Gris, Dundee Hills ’14. April 12, 2017: Join James Beard award-winning chefs and cookbook authors, Art Smith & Norman Van Aken for a night of fine wine, great food, and great books to raise money for the Adult Literacy League. Held at the Orlando Science Center, Reading Between the Wines promises delicious foods and wine tastings. Enjoy samplings from participating vendors and restaurants such as 4 Rivers, Art Smith’s Homecoming, The Coop, Cabot Cheese, Fiorenzo Italian Steakhouse at Hyatt Regency Orlando, Carmel Kitchen and Wine Bar, Olde Hearth Bread Company, The Palm Restaurant in Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Studios, Raglan Road, and Swine and Sons Provisions.

April 27, 2017: Stroll along historic Plant Street while you sample wine and food and perhaps do a little shopping at the Winter Garden Wine Walk. Hosted by the Garden Choir, the Winter Garden Wine Walk is a single-price admission event that includes a wine glass and printed guide to tasting stations positioned at local merchant locations. Each tasting station has a sponsored winery and light food bites.

April 29, 2017: Sip, savor, and support the Orlando Science Center at the Science of Wine. Presented by Southern Glazer’s Wines and Spirits, The Science of Wine takes you through a tour of your wine—literally. Tickets include all food and wine tastings. Foods include samplings from Black Rooster Taqueria, Norman’s at the Ritz Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes, The Pub, Tapa Toro, and Kasa Restaurant and Bar to name a few. Early bird tickets are $110 (purchase before April 2 to receive discount), Members pay $100 and General Admission is $125. Add-on seminars and cooking demos are priced at $20 each.
