Volusia County Beer Week
February 9, 2017: Cocktail attire is required for Brews and Bowties. This 10-course beer pairing dinner features 10 rare or unique beers paired with dishes created by 10 area chefs and artisans. Local Love: A selection from Port Orange’s Tomoka Brewing Company will be paired with Gas Full Service, St. Augustine. Save room for dessert. Sweet Spot in Deland will be bringing their homemade treats, paired (or mixed with?) something special from Copperbottom Distillery.
February 11: The DeLand Craft Beer Festival in Historic Downtown DeLand will feature over 80 breweries and over 300 beers, and offers ticket holders unlimited samples from 1 to 5pm. The festival venue runs along East Indiana Ave. from North Woodland Blvd. to, and including, North Alabama Ave. Those streets will be closed to accommodate the brewery tents and foot traffic. Proceeds from the event benefit Mainstreet DeLand Association.
February 25: Sanford Brewing Company will hold their “official” grand opening, with doors opening at 2:30pm. Wristbands will be handed out to Founders at 2:30 and at 4pm to the General Public. All drinks are included until midnight. Feel free to arrive early and stay late, knowing there will be a per-glass charge outside the 4pm-midninght window. Buy tickets here for $55, or $65 at the gate (if available). Music starts inside at 2:30pm; the street will be closed from 6pm to midnight, then the party moves inside until closing at 2am. Seating is limited, so bring a chair.
March 10: 6-Course Beer-Pairing Dinner at Harry’s Poolside Bar & Grill, at Rosen Centre. Harry’s Brewmaster begins its 2017 series by exploring delicious cuisine from award-winning Harry’s Poolside Chef, Tello Luna, paired with beer from Jacksonville’s Bold City Brewery, with Brewmaster Brian Miller. The main course, Coffee & Chile Crusted Filet Mignon, will be paired with Bourbon Barrel Aged Roxy’s Imperial Cream Ale. Price is $55 Per Person. (Reservations and prepayment required.) Reception begins at 6:30pm followed by dinner at 7pm. Take advantage of complimentary valet or self-parking.
March 11: The streets of downtown Sanford will transform into a pet-friendly Craft Brew Party on as West End Trading Company and Celery City Craft host the 5th Annual Craft Beer Festival Pints n’ Paws. Proceeds benefit Dolly’s Foundation, Pet Rescue by Judy and the companion animals they serve.
Advance tickets are available at West End Trading, Celery City Craft. Will call tickets can be purchased online at pintsandpaws.com. Advance tickets are $30 and include craft beer sampling from 2 – 6pm. A limited quantity of advanced VIP Tickets are available for $45, which includes 1pm admission, commemorative t-shirt and koozie, plus discounted pint glasses and 20% off Growlers at Celery City on event day. Tickets may be purchased at the event for $40 (general) $55 (VIP).
March 24: Sip and sup under the stars with Celebrity Chef Emily Ellyn at a Crafted Beer Fiesta. Emily will demonstrate her delicious remake of everyone’s favorite family-style dishes, using fresh ingredients from their Edible Garden and beer from 3-Daughters Brewing in the beautiful outdoor kitchen at Bok Tower Gardens. Guests will enjoy unlimited beer and wine.
April 8: The Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens is partnering with Wayne Dench Inc. to present the 10th Annual Brews Around the Zoo from 6 — 10pm. Tickets include unlimited samples of beer, wine, and food during the event.
General admission tickets for this adults-only event are $50 and include zoo access from 6 — 10pm. Limited early admission tickets are available for $60, with access beginning at 5p. Purchase tickets for general and early admission on Eventbrite.
All guests must be 21 or older and must have a ticket to attend. Guests must show ID at time of entry. Note: Guests with infants and/or small children will not be permitted to enter the gates under any circumstances.
Saturdays February 11 Through May 13: SeaWorld Orlando presents their all new Seven Seas Festival, featuring 60 unique food items and more than 55 local and international craft beers. Local beverage companies are setting sail on the maiden voyage that also boasts top music acts and food from around the world. Beer and beverage providers include Orlando Brewing Right on Red- Red Amber, Orange Blossom Toasted Coconut Porter, Lakeridge Winery Cabernet Sauvignon, Lakeridge Sunblush. There’s even a Seven Seas Food Festival Beer Hut with drafts such as Tampa Bay Brewing Co‘s Reef Donkey, Cigar City‘s Florida Cracker White Ale, and Crooked Can Mr. Tractor- Kolsch. 3 Daughters Brewing Co has a few selections: Beach Blonde Ale- Blonde Ale, Bimini Twist- IPA, and Rod Bender- Amber Red. Entrance to the Seven Seas Festival is included in park admission. Food & Brew Sampling Lanyards can be purchased in varying sample-size amounts. June 3: Science Night Live at Orlando Science Center: Craft Beer Edition. Science-types 21 and older can enjoy craft beer sampling with local and national breweries, and craft beer mini seminars, plus (if last year’s event is any gauge of fun), loads of cool hands on, eyes wide science.
