10 Orlando Food Events in August


August is a bittersweet mixture of enjoying the last bits of summer and catching the back-to-school blues. Luckily, we’ve got you covered with Orlando food events to ease your transition and make this month as sweet as it can be.

  1. On August 10th, make your way to downtown Sanford to celebrate National S’mores Day with a block party. Hosted by Wondermade, this free event runs from 5-8pm and will have a variety of vendors, activities, and of course, marshmallows. Help Wondermade set a s’mores world record by enjoying their delicious treats.
  2. The Mexican Consulate in Orlando will host the 5th Annual Mexican Food Festival on August 17th at Lake Eola. Enjoy tacos, elotes, aguas frescas, guacamole and more from restaurants in Central Florida and beyond.
  3. UF/IFAS Extension Seminole County will host a Farmer to Farmer Meet Up at East End Market on August 22nd for Central Florida farmers and market gardeners. Attendees at this networking event will discuss successes, challenges, and opportunities, as well as to learn about currently available resources.
  4. The Inquisitor Wine Dinner at The Alfond Inn on August 2nd will take guests on a culinary journey to South Africa. Enjoy a bounty of crisp wines and savory food that pays homage to the “old world and new world” of this part of the globe.
  5. At A Taste of Tuscany at Terralina on August 14th, James Beard Award winner Tony Mantuano and Executive Chef Justin Plank will present a four course dinner with Italian wine pairings. Antipasti, handmade pasta and porterhouse steaks with family-style sides star in this Italian feast (image above).
  6. Artisan’s Table will host a celebration of food, music and wine at the Orlando Wine Mixer on August 3rd. This special summer pop-up event includes bottomless wine selections and craft beer from local Orange County Brewerspaired with bites. DJ Darren and a live acoustic band will play classic rock ballads from the 70s and 80s.
  7. Join Nourish Coffee Bar + Kitchen Chef Collette Haw for a cooking class on August 6th at the Crosby Center for Health and Wellbeing. Learn healthy recipes inspired by the Mediterranean Diet, enjoy samples and receive a copy of the recipes to add to your home cookbook..
  8. Wine Riffs is a multi-sensory five-course dinner event that explores the mix of wine, food and music on August 9th at Hard Rock Hotel® at Universal Orlando™. Listen to Kobrand’s Mauro Maugliani take you on an Italian wine adventure, taste culinary pairings from Hard Rock’s award-winning chefs and enjoy a custom soundtrack set to the mood of the evening.
  9. Learn to pick the perfect flavors and try some delicious samples at a Wine & Cheese Pairing at Lucky’s Clermont on August 16th. All attendees will also receive one complimentary beverage of choice.
  10. Whipped cream and yogurt and peaches, oh my! Bring your preschooler to Little Chef: Peach Cobbler at the Orlando Public Library on August 23rd  to mix, layer, mush and slice a delicious recipe. Registration required.
