10 Orlando Food Events in June


June means school’s out and summer is here, and you can celebrate at one (or all) of of the many food events in Orlando with a class, book launch party or even an indoor farmer’s market. Check out the family-friendly food events below.

  1. Plan a day of family fun at Bloomingdales on Saturday, June 8th. Start with a cooking class by Edible Orlando, arts and crafts with the Orlando Museum of Art, and a Daddy and Me fashion show.
  2. On Monday, June 24th, the Orlando Public Library is hosting Mango Monday. Gain recipes and tips on how to select and prepare mangos from representatives of the National Mango Board.
  3. Be sure to pre-register for the UF/IFAS Extension organic gardening class on Thursday, June 13th. Learn about soil building, disease and insect control, and other aspects of growing your food organically.
  4. Go out-of-this-world on Monday, June 24that the Orlando Public Library. Enjoy the “Mommy or Daddy and Me” event by spreading, cutting, and layering a yummy Moon Snack.
  5. On June 19th, learn how to create your own vegan cheese board at the Ancient Olive. Sip healthier cocktails (or bring your own wine) and watch Carly Paige, author of the cookbook Simply Swapped, demo a cheese board creation and even make homemade vegan cheese.
  6. Don’t miss the Central Florida Soul Food Festival on June 15th! There will beover 15 food trucks, live bands, family fun, and all the greens, beans, potatoes, and chicken to feed your soul.
  7. The Daily City is putting on an indoor farmers market on June 9th. Shop for all your groceries and get some ready-to-eat goodies from a variety of your favorite local vendors in the air conditioning at Celine Orlando.
  8. Summer means lots of cocktail brunches. In preparation, Luke’s Kitchen and Bar is hosting a cocktail class and brunch on June 22nd. Be sure to call and reserve your seat to get 3 cocktails, 3 brunchy courses, and new tools to host your perfect brunch!
  9. Did you know that June is Orlando’s tastiest month? Throughout the month of June over 30 participating restaurants across Orlando offer a prix fixe Bite 30 menu offering multiple dishes for the price of one entrée. Explore the dishes and ambiance at the hottest places in Orlando’s food scene.
  10. Celebrate the launch of Unique Eats and Eateries of Orlando by EO’s own Kendra Lott at a special event at Tuffy’s Bottle Shop & Lounge (pictured above) on Sunday, June 9. From 11am-3pm, enjoy chicken dinners from Chef Shantell Williams , beer specials and book signings at Brews, Books & Birds.
