There’s plenty to do (and eat) this month in Orlando, with many locales offering Halloween themed events and treats, as well as Oktoberfest celebrations and fundraisers to benefit Breast Cancer Awareness month. Check out the list below to see where to go and what to eat for the month of October.
1: Zombietoberfest & The Night Market takes place on October 6th, from 5-10pm. Located in the Audubon Park Garden District, this event features artists, food trucks, craft beer gardens, a costume contest, food trucks and more.
2: Oktoberfest is happening at Orange County Brewers all day long on October 6th. They are featuring German brews and food, as well as live music.
3: Join The Coop for a Sunday Brunch benefitting the Florida Hospital for Women. The brunch takes place on October 14th, and features a special brunch menu and live music.
4: Head over to Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel for the Food and Wine Classic on October 26th and 27th. This food filled weekend offers seminars, food and wine tastings, and Beer Gardens. Tickets start at $127.
5: Edible Orlando is partnering with Bloomingdales to present a Cooking Class Series. Join Chef Gary Appelsies, Director of Healthy Eating at the Central Florida YMCA on October 13th at 11:30 am to learn about using food as medicine. Register in advance for this free event.
6: Go through an exciting corn maze and then head over to the farm fresh market at Long and Scott Farms. The maze is open from October 6th through December 9.
7: On October 27th, head to Orlando Festival Park for Central Florida Veg Fest. This free event includes speakers and exhibits, as well as plenty of vegetarian and vegan-friendly food for purchase.
8: The 2nd Annual Homestead Harvest is taking place on October 26th at Whisper Creek Farms (pictured above). This fundraising event hosted by Ritz Carlton Orlando features area chefs as well as chefs from Ritz Carlton properties throughout Florida, and will support two sustainable agriculture programs: Frog Song Organics Free Mulch Incorporated and Fleet Farming. Tickets from $135/person.
9: Hollerbach’s German Street Party is happening October 12th-14th to celebrate Oktoberfest. There will be live music, food vendors, and plenty of German beer. Wunderbar!
10: Head to Sanford on October 29th for Taste of Sanford, which features food samples from local restaurants, desserts and beverage tastings. $25/person; $45/couple.
