12 Ways to Celebrate Oktoberfest in Orlando

It’s that time of year again! Oktoberfest! A time to unapologetically drink too much beer and act a little silly all in the name of tradition. We’re a long way away from the  16-day beer festival happening in Munich, Germany but don’t let that stop you from joining in on the fun. Here are a dozen events happening throughout Central Florida where you can say “Prost!”

Wreckers Beer Pairing Dinner

Mini Beer School

Instructed by Brewery President John Cheek, Mini Beer School students will gain knowledge of four very different beers, learning about ingredients, flavors, aromas and the brewing process while they taste the finished product. The organic beer tasting will be followed by a private tour of the brewery with President Cheek. Class begins at 4pm and will cost $20 to join. Please RSVP (407) 872-1117.

Third Annual Munich Style Oktoberfest

This event will feature live music by the Shriner’s Oktoberfest Band as well as German beer and fare including pretzels and potato salad.

Orlando Brewing and local cheese guru Tonda Corrente Nazario of La Femme Du Fromage join forces for a uniquely handcrafted experience featuring 5 organic Orlando Brewing beers paired with 5 handcrafted, farmstead & artisan cheese. German American Society’s Oktoberfest

Nerd Nite (The German Edition)

Nerd Nite is an informal gathering at which nerds get together for fun-yet-informative presentations. On 10.10.13 this gathering will take place at the Orlando Brewing Taproom and will focus on German culture and beer. The event will run from 7pm-9pm and a food truck will be on premise. $10 per person.

Alive After 5: Oktoberfest
Downtown Sanford
Thursday, October 10, 5-8pm
Wander along the street listening to live music and sampling beer and food.

Oktoberfest 
Avalon Park Town Center
October 11-12, 5-10pm
This two-day outdoor event will feature German music by Europa, Alpine dancing, magic shows, food and a beer garden.
