Bartender Competition

Local bartenders Eric Foster (The Matador), Kaitlin McGavock (The Courtesy), Samm Holder (The Woods), Mike Bass (Cask and Larder),  Rob Brown (Chef’s Table) and Paul Johnsen (Todd English’s Bluezoo) compete in a friendly competition to see who’s king (or queen) of the cocktail.

Happy Hour for Hunger

Winter Park Village
$20 per person

Presented by Ruth’s Chris Steak House and Mitchell’s Fish Market, the fall-themed event will feature live entertainment, plus drinks and appetizers provided by Winter Park Village restaurants. All ticket proceeds will benefit Feed the Need, Winter Park’s community-wide initiative to raise funds for Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida this month.

Tickets are available through the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce at www.winterpark.org for $20 in advance, at the Winter Park Welcome Center or at the door.

Jake’s Beer Dinner

Harvest Celebration With Melissa Kelly

JW Marriott Orlando, Grande Lakes Orlando will host a very special Harvest Celebration at the on-site Whisper Creek Farm to celebrate the resort’s 10th anniversary. Led by Chef Melissa Kelly, the Harvest Celebration menu will showcase the Farm’s featured on-site method of cookery: asado barbecue, where meats are slow cooked on an open grill, called a parrilla. In addition to produce from Whisper Creek Farm itself, the menu will include ingredients from nearby purveyors Palmetto Creek Farms, Lake Meadow Naturals, My Yard Farm, and King Family Farm.

Chefs and “foodpreneurs” from East End Market will focus on local ingredients for this celebration of fall flavors, which includes sommelier-selected wines, a signature fall cocktail, handcrafted beers, live music and dancing.

The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with a Crémant Reception in the Grand Bohemian Gallery before guests make their way to Gallery I on the fifth floor for an artistic dining experience with Artist Jean Claude Roy. The Boheme’s Executive Chef Laurent Hollaender will present a perfect collaboration of culinary and artistic palates, as the exclusive dinner menu expertly reflects Roy’s bright colorful paintings, energetic movement and expressionist style.

Sweet Thanksgiving Carnival

Sweet worlds collide as Taverna Opa Orlando partners with Wondermade, The Hyppo Orlando and Sassafras Sweet Shoppe to host a Sweet Thanksgiving Carnival featuring food-and-wine stations, a dessert bar, live entertainment, and carnival games ranging from wine bottle ring toss to dunk-the-belly dancer. In an effort to benefit the community, cash and Square donations will be accepted at the door to assist the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.

This evening of art, food, cocktails and community gives guests the chance to peruse through beautiful works from some of Orlando’s most talented artists, sip delicious cocktails, and snack on Indian cuisine provided by Raga Restaurant’s chefs. There will also be a comedy hour with four Orlando comics. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association.
