Would your kid rather practice her chopping than her karate chops? Does he have more passion for kitchen craft than for Minecraft?
Edible Orlando has partnered with YMCA Central Florida and Florida Hospital Gourmet Soiree to present the Kids Cook-Off at Aggressive Appliances from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. on May 1. From now until April 18, kids in grades 2-8 can submit healthful recipes via the form below.
Five lucky finalists will be paired with chefs from Emmabean, an Orlando-based sustainable lunch delivery service, and other local chefs to prepare and present samples of their winning recipe to their families and local media. Finalists will be notified on April 25.
Judges from Edible Orlando, the YMCA and Florida Hospital will choose one winner to receive two tickets (for themselves and an adult family member) to sit at the Kids VIP Table at Gourmet Soiree on June 5 at Rosen Shingle Creek. Contestants may submit up to one original recipe in each category—main course, snack or side dish—and include a short description of how they made the recipe healthful. Complete list of rules, resources and criteria posted below.
