Who wouldn’t love a chocolate-covered strawberry martini? This decadent after-dinner drink is a luscious substitute for dessert, and a perfect Valentine’s Day drink.
It’s also a perfect way to utilize the strawberries that are in season in Florida from mid-December through early April. (Here’s a guide on where to pick your own!)
Kiddos want their own version? Substitute chocolate milk for the chocolate vodka and omit the Grand Marnier for a zero-proof version that’s just as delicious.
Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Martini
Makes 1 drink
6 chocolate-mint leaves
2 to 3 fresh strawberries
2 ounces chocolate vodka
¾ ounce Grand Marnier
Dash of simple syrup
Garnish: chocolate-covered strawberries (see below)
- Place mint leaves and strawberries in a martini shaker and muddle gently. Add remaining ingredients except garnish. Add ice and shake 20 times.
- Strain into a chilled martini glass, and garnish with a chocolate-covered strawberry.
For the garnish, it’s very simple to make your own chocolate-covered strawberries. You can buy dipping chocolate at the grocery store.
