At Edible Orlando, we love to talk about the wonderful food available in and around town, but for some, a next meal isn’t a certainty. Approximately 1 in 5 Central Floridians struggle with food insecurity. Fortunately, there are organizations available to provide food and resources to those who need them.
The Community Food & Outreach Center provides a range of services for Central Floridians struggling through unemployment, hunger, housing difficulties, and more. They offer emergency food pantry bags, a cost-share grocery program, crisis care, and an education program.
One of our favorite food events, Cows n Cabs, benefits the CFOC. Held under a tent in the Central Park West meadow of Park Avenue, the evening offers food, beer wine and spirits, cigars, and a live band with Western flair.
Tickets includes a huge selection of tastes from some of Orlando’s best restaurants—4Rivers Smokehouse and The Coop, K Restauarant, Norman’s Orlando, SoCo, Se7en Bites, Puff ‘n’ Stuff, The Crooked Spoon, Hawkers, Peterbrooke Chocolatier, Txokos Basque Kitchen, The Meat House, bluezoo, P is for Pie, Citrus, Taverna Opa, Cress, and American Gymkhana—as well as beers, wines, and spirits.
Cows n Cabs is this Saturday, October 24. For tickets, visit cowsncabs.com
