Ice Cream Workshop at the Zoo

On Saturday, June 29 from 11am – 1pm, Culinary Artist Clare Crespo heads to the Central Florida Zoo to give a free YummyFun workshop. The event, which is open to the public, will feature Breyers ice cream samplings, recipe demonstrations and family fun activities all designed to show parents and children how easy and fun family time in the kitchen can be.

Crespo, the author of A Very Veggie WorldThe Secret Life of Food, and the DVD series The YummyFun Kooking Series, will be showing attendees how to make two recipes: Mint Chocolate Chimps and a 4th of July inspired ice cream treat using vanilla and strawberry Breyers ice cream.

“I just love transforming food into crazy things,” Crespo says. “I just play with my food all day long. This summer I am partnering with Breyers; their flavors are such easy art supplies to me.”

At the YummyFun workshop Clare will lead with a unique recipe demonstration before asking participants to get hands-on and design their own ice cream innovations. While pre-registration is not compulsory, attendees are encouraged to “join” the event at Facebook.com/Breyers/Events for updates.

This event takes place inside the zoo at the Special Events Deck. Immediately following the workshop, samples of Breyers ice cream will be on hand until 4pm.

From June 10 through September 23, families nationwide are encouraged to submit their “delicious moments” — a sundae creation, favorite flavor or even a fun family photo — to Facebook.com/Breyers. One lucky winner will be showcased within the Winner’s Gallery each week and will receive exciting prizes, such as a tablet or a year’s supply of Breyers ice cream.
