Edible Orlando got a taste of the new menu at the Lakeside Bar & Grill at the cozy Bohemian Hotel in Celebration (pictured above), where Chef Zachary Martin returns with “American comfort food with a Southern contemporary touch.”
His menu features tastes from local farms such as Waterkist, Cahaba Farms, Arc Farms, Pero Family Farms, Santa Sweet and B&W Quality Growers. A summer corn bisque is topped with tiny corn shoots; beets and bleu cheese feature Florida microgreens. You’ll find a flatbread featuring Florida gator sausage, and a sauce of Florida blueberries with the mascarpone cheesecake.
Other favorites: a crab cake with shaved fennel, tomato, red onion salad and Champagne yogurt; and filet mignon with summer roasted vegetables, roasted fingerling potatoes and fresh herb butter. The restaurant starts in the lobby and spills out onto the lovely back veranda, the perfect spot for casual meals like flatbreads, a New York-style Reuben or the Black & Blue Angus burger. Or go upscale with the Kessler Chophouse menu that features New Zealand rack of lamb, bone-in rib-eye, pan-seared Chilean sea bass and grilled salmon, as well as premium Black Angus beef hand selected by hotel founder Richard Kessler.
The hotel is part of The Kessler Collection which includes 12 hotels around the country, each filled with fine art and other artifacts that Kessler buys in his travels around the world.
