Now in its third year, Florida Hospital’s Gourmet Soiree event returns Sunday, May 18 to the Rosen Shingle Creek where more than 50 local chefs will contribute their culinary prowess at this interactive dining affair in support of Healthy 100 Kids Program.
Tables, which are available for purchase via sponsorship packages, will host eight guests who will get the chance to pair up with chefs as they create a healthy entrée on the fly. Chefs are vying for the coveted Silver Fork Award in this Iron Chef style competition focused on healthy cuisine and featuring Chef Robert Irvine from the Food Network.
Each local chef will guide their table in preparing a healthy, delicious meal by adding their own spin with the ingredients available in the Whole Food pantries located throughout the ballroom.
After the entrees are prepared, guests will dine with their table’s chef and enjoy a full spread of sides and desserts provided by Rosen Shingle Creek’s culinary team.
Today the online auction begins for dozens of superb offerings—including spa days and getaways—but all eyes will be on the Chef’s Table Auction, which will pair winning bidders with either John Rivers (4Rivers and The COOP), Kevin Fonzo (K Restaurant) or Emily Ellyn (Food Network). Winners of the online auction items will be announced on Friday, May 16.
Affectionately described as organized culinary chaos, Gourmet Soirée has raised more than $400,000 for Florida Hospital’s Healthy 100 Kids Program since its inception in 2012.
