Recipe & Photo Recap: Seminole County’s Self-Driving Farm Tour

0

Six different Seminole County farms flung open their gates on Friday, April 11 to allow hundreds of passionate locavores the chance to get up close and personal with our local farmers and food.

The self-driving tour, which began at 9am, traveled to Sanford Farm, Organic Sanctuary, Claire’s Berries, The Yarborough Ranch, Maya Papaya Farm, and South Seminole Farm & Nursery.

Part way through the day, a hungry horde of more than 200 attendees gathered at The Yarborough Ranch to enjoy a lunch of burgers made from local beef and salad made from local veggies.

Now in its 15th year, Seminole County’s Self-Guided Farm Tour is coordinated by the University of Florida/IFAS Extension of Seminole County each spring. For more information about this as well as other local programs, visit www.seminolecountyfl.gov/extensionservices
