One of our favorite food and wine pairing events, the Heart of Florida United Way Chef’s Gala, will feature food from more than 20 of Central Florida’s top chefs, along with thoughtfully paired fine wines, live music and a silent auction. The event will be held Saturday, May 10, but we recently got a preview of a few of the dishes that will be featured at the event, and it made our mouths water for more.
Poached Maine Lobster Truffled Brioche with Garlic Aϊoli, Primo Garden Chives, and Crispy Buttermilk-Malt Vinegar Marinated Shallots from Chef Gilberto Ramirez of Primo by Melissa Kelly at Grande Lakes Orlando
Slow-braised Pork Shank on Parmesan Grits with Shrimp and Sausage f rom Chef Greg Richie of the Thornton Park Restaurant Group.
And a selection of desserts prepared by Andreas Born, pastry chef of Disney’s Hollywood Studios Bakery
Crunchy Sugar Cookie Puff with Lemon Grass Cream, Banana-Toffee Mousse on Cocoa Crunch with Strawberry-Banana Pearls Caramel and Caramel Custard with Passion Fruit Glacé.
