Thanksgiving Dinner in Orlando


There are plenty of restaurants open for Thanksgiving, but as many locals look to downsize their gatherings and stay close to home, turkey take-out is looking better than ever. Area caterers have long provided fuss-free feasts to heat and eat at home, and this year local restaurants and resorts are getting in on the to-go game, too. Whether you opt for a complete feast or grab just a few prepared items to round out your home-cooked bird, Thanksgiving to-go in Orlando’s is worth celebrating.

The Whole She-Bang

The chefs at Luke’s are whipping up a meal to heat at home for up to six guests for $135. Enjoy biscuits with honey butter; butternut squash soup with sage crème fraîche and toasted pumpkin seeds; roasted bone-in turkey breast with charred cranberry sauce and gravy; whipped potatoes with cream, garlic, herbs; herbed stuffing; green-bean casserole with mushrooms and truffle bread crumb; and a pumpkin roll with caramelized white chocolate, toasted marshmallow and honeycomb. Quantities are limited, call 407-674-2400 to place your order for curbside pickup on November 25th between 12pm and 4pm.

Bring luxury home with a complete dinner for six from the Ritz-Carlton Orlando Grande Lakes. This ready-to-enjoy feast is $265 and includes Whisper Creek Farm Seminole pumpkin soup; kale with cranberry vinaigrette, cornbread croutons and beets; 14-16 pound whole roasted turkey; sides of sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, green beans and gravy; and choice of pie (chocolate pecan, pumpkin or apple crumble). You’ll give thanks for the takeaway special at Tabla on November 26. For just $35, you’ll get one order each of cranberry paneer kofta curry and turkey tikka masala, plus two orders each of rice pulao, rosemary naan and pumpkin-spiced rice pudding.

Order ASAP to get a generous dinner for two from Hinckley’s Fancy Meats. For $65, you’ll feast on Parker House rolls with black-truffle butter; turkey (cherry-wood smoked with Durango-chili rub, herb roasted or turducken); cranberry sauce; sausage stuffing; herbed potato and Gruyere gratin; sweet potato casserole with Sugar Rush marshmallows; Everoak Farms garden salad with preserved-lemon vinaigrette; and apple crumble.

You can feed up to six hungry souls with the feast at Shantell’s Just Until, and it’s available for pickup through November 25. Pickup is available on November 24 and 25.

Order family-style meals from Yard House at least 24 hours in advance to pick up on November 24, 25 or 26. Cooked sliced turkey breast comes with and gravy and cranberry sauce; an uncooked herbed prime rib comes with au jus and horseradish sauce. Both meals come with Parmesan mashed potatoes; cornbread dressing; spiced-pecan green beans; broccoli-cheddar casserole; deviled eggs; bread and butter; and pumpkin cheesecake.

Family meals for four from Puff ‘n Stuff are $140 and include assorted cheeses and breads; green salad; green bean casserole; toasted country bread dressing with dried apricot and cranberry; roasted-garlic whipped potatoes; and a sage-and-citrus marinated airline turkey breast with pan juices and cranberry-orange relish.

Petty’s Meats invites you to “gobble til you wobble” with their heat-and-eat feast for up to eight guests. For $84.99, you’ll get a cooked boneless turkey breast and two pounds each of bread stuffing, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes and gravy, plus six dinner rolls and cranberry sauce.

The $29 three-course menu from Mia’s Italian Kitchen is available to-go, and includes house-made sausage arancini or pumpkin raviolo; brick-roasted turkey with garlic mashed potatoes, green beans, stuffing and gravy or braised prime short rib with rigatoni and roasted carrots, celery, caramelized onions, red wine jus and mascarpone; and cannoli or sweet pumpkin panna cotta.

At Tapa Toro, the family paella special is $149 and serves up to six people. It includes beef empanadas, artichoke dip, Iberian caesar salad, choice of paella (seafood, vegetable or chicken and chorizo), pumpkin flan and a half-gallon of red or white sangria.

For $169.99, the heat-and-eat meal for six from Cooper’s Hawk includes pretzel bread, butternut squash soup, house salad, roasted turkey, pan gravy, cranberry sauce, stuffing, Mary’s potatoes, roasted and glazed green beans and carrots, plus Eli’s pumpkin praline cheesecake.

Order through November 23 for curbside pickup from 10am-pm on November 25 or 26 at Rosen Shingle Creek. For $40 per person (minimum 8 people) enjoy a trio of cold salads; citrus-brined carved turkey; cranberry sauce; giblet gravy; four-cheese baked macaroni and cheese; Yukon gold mashed potatoes; toasted marshmallow yams; Brussels with charred oranges and bacon; plus pumpkin and deep-dish apple pie.

À la Carte

Swine and Sons is offering turkeys from Joyce Farms either raw ($70-120), brined ($80-130) or brined, smoked and fully cooked (pictured above, $105-155). Add a four-pack of sides to any turkey purchase for $55; individual sides serve 4-6 and include macaroni and cheese ($16); roasted Brussels with hot honey and sunflower seeds ($18); apricot and toasted-almond stuffing ($14); smoked cauliflower and carrots ($18); and roasted fingerling potatoes with salsa verde ($12). The Ravenous Pig is offering full turkeys (10-14lbs, $55) or turkey breast (2-3lbs, $30) served brined, seasoned and uncooked with cooking instructions provided. Sides for four are $15 each and include cornbread stuffing; buttermilk and roasted garlic mashed potatoes; sweet potato and mushroom casserole; and a chilled green-bean salad with pickled peppers and lardons. A whole pecan pie is $24. Pickup is between 11am and 5pm on November 25th.

Whole smoked turkeys at 4Rivers Smokehouse serve up to 14 guests ($79.99), and a fixin’s package ($62.49) with mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet potato casserole, stuffing, green beans and cranberry chutney serves up to six. Á la carte sides ($10.59-13.09) are available by the quart, and whole pies (caramel apple, pumpkin or Texas bourbon pecan) are $24.99.

Guests can order additional servings for $15 each; other add-ons include charcuterie and cheese ($25), one dozen assorted cookies ($15) and additional pies ($20). Place orders no later than November 21 for pick-up on November 26.

A Moveable Feast is offering an array of sides that feed up to five guests, and most are priced at $9.75. Choose from sage, sausage and cornbread stuffing; extra crunchy green bean casserole; sweet potato casserole topped with bacon streusel; focaccia stuffing with apples and leeks; sharp cheddar cauliflower gratin; and other creative takes on classic holiday fare.
