From the first brushstrokes of an artist’s design years ago, Lake Nona today thrives as a vibrant community in real time designed for those with an active lifestyle – and a passion for good food.

More than 40 miles of paved and unpaved trails and open green space welcome walkers, joggers, and bikers. Across Lake Nona’s 17 square miles, community gardens pop up like tulips in a Holland springtime. Extensive public art – like The Glass House, pictured above, by Brooklyn-based artist Tom Fruin – is found community-wide. Thousands of satisfied residents call Lake Nona home.

You want outdoors fun in the sun? The hip, family, and dog-friendly outdoor venue of Boxi Park offers a mix of bars, food truck-style eateries, beach volleyball courts, kid’s playground, and a live entertainment stage for an open-air environment that is the heartbeat of the community. It is here, Lake Nona Town Center, where residents and visitors alike gather to enjoy life in shady green spaces perfect for chatting, playing, sipping, eating, and tapping feet to the sounds of the music.

Lake Nona is a proven center of technology, education, and well-being. It is considered a successful airport edge city, a few minutes away from Orlando International Airport. To live, work and play here in a community master planned by the Tavistock Group has made Lake Nona one of the fastest growing cities in one of the fastest growing regions in the country. With a busy events calendar, no one is ever lacking for a fun activity.

With all there is to do in Lake Nona, actives and visitors can work up an appetite.

One of the true dining gems in Lake Nona, Tabla Indian Restaurant at Lake Nona Landing serves up delectable cuisine from traditional Indian to Indo-Chinese, Vegan and Thai choices – all presented with pride and a passion for perfection. Lake Nona’s first Indian restaurant, Tabla boasts a loyal clientele.

Imagine the aromas of fresh Indian curries, Indo-Chinese delicacies and Thai spices filling the restaurant. Now imagine those aromas drifting outside, to the beautiful patio, set prettily with blue umbrella tables for al fresco dining.

Tabla attributes its success to great food refined and recreated to amazing taste levels by in-house chefs. Not to mention caring owners. “Over the years,” says co-owner Nora Jain, “we have taken traditional recipes and enhanced them with a modern approach.”

“Our menu is creative as it is flavorful, with a mix of Indian Asian fusion. We make no compromise and serve truly healthy, nutritious meals using the best ingredients, nothing frozen, nothing reused.”

She suggests garlic naan or Tabla mixed grill for a starter, a mouth-watering kabob or tika masala as centerpiece and dessert of Gulab Jamun Brule or Mango Tiramasu.

“Our culture promotes celebration with friends and family,” she says. “We want to create a warm, happy atmosphere where you come to enjoy the food with the elegant, refined ambiance, love and care that we put into every dish.”

Whether at its Orlando, Winter Park or Lake Nona location, at Tabla the delectable flavors of India shine through with every dish.
